Since 2024, the team has been progressing the development of Ossian’s Lincolnshire Transmission Infrastructure in support of our Development Consent Order application.
Following changes to Ossian’s grid design, the project is pausing work on the proposed Lincolnshire grid connections at this time to focus on progressing the connection allocated to Ossian in Scotland. As a result, Ossian has withdrawn from the Development Consent Order pre-application process at this time. Ossian’s Lincolnshire connections continue to be integral to the project’s proposals, and we intend to recommence our application for a DCO at a future date.
We remain committed to providing updates to all stakeholders as and when we are in a position to do so.
We are grateful to all stakeholders in Lincolnshire for their engagement and feedback to date, all of which has been valuable in helping us take the project forward in a considered manner. Ossian’s latest round of public consultation closed on Sunday 13th of April 2025. The consultation materials from this period are available to view or download by visiting our Document Library.

All the feedback that we have received is carefully considered and has been reviewed and summarised in an end of consultation summary report.
Non-statutory consultations provide local communities, stakeholders and other interested parties the opportunity to engage with the Ossian project team early in the planning process. The feedback collected during the non-statutory consultation will inform the design and development of the project.
What we consulted on
We sought views and feedback on the following areas as part of the non-statutory consultation period:
Offshore transmission infrastructure: Offshore cables from the wind farm array to landfall.
Landfall: Where the offshore cables are brought ashore and jointed to the onshore cables.
Onshore transmission infrastructure: Onshore cables from the landfall to onshore converter stations. Onshore cables between onshore converter stations and the points of connection to the National Grid.
Onshore cables will be installed below ground along this corridor. No overhead lines are being proposed as part of the Ossian Transmission Infrastructure. We expect these cables to be installed using open trenching techniques, with trenchless techniques such as horizontal directional drilling, being employed where the route crosses features such as major roads or watercourses and/or environmentally sensitive areas.
