Ossian as part of NEEOG wins Environmental Excellence Award!

Ossian is a proud member of the Northeast and East Ornithology Group (NEEOG) which has received the Environmental Excellence Award at the 2025 RUK Global Offshore Wind Awards!

This prestigious recognition celebrates the impact of true collaboration - showcasing how developer-led initiatives can aim to reduce consenting risk, fill evidence gaps and address challenges faced by projects, regulators and wider stakeholders. The NEEOG group has committed almost £6 million to ornithology studies, surveys and projects that will support the sustainable development of the offshore wind farm pipeline across Scotland and the UK.

Commissioned projects include:

🐦‍⬛ Long-term seabird colony counts and drone trials at protected sites
🪽 Annual seabird tracking at key breeding colonies for kittiwake and auk species
🟢 Strategic regional compensation measures to inform policy and guidance
✍ Establishing and contributing to a seabird resilience fund to facilitate development of strategic compensation measures
